Spring News

For each one of us the Fete has something special to offer and Sunday’s event had plenty to keep our crowds entertained, and fed, with a wide range of goods to buy, books to read, and gifts to bid for at the Auction.  We give thanks to God our loving Creator for good weather and the blessings of a great community day.

Today is the Feast of All Saints.  It is not hard to see the qualities of selflessness which are the hallmark of these heavenly holy ones in the many parents, staff and students of our school who have contributed their time and financial support for the good of all.  Our holy one Sr. M. Anne Holland was very much missed from the Fete.

In this week’s Bulletin:

  • There’s a colourful spread of photos from Sunday’s Fete & Auction

  • October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for the first time, under guidance of the SRC, St Dominic’s held a Pink Day; raising $911 in a matter of hours.

  • Six members of the St Dominic’s community have poems published in the Spring Poetry Festival Anthology, and at Saturday’s launch, two of these students were presented with special awards.  See inside today’s Bulletin for more.

  • In Primary, our Year 5s are back from their Zoo Snooze, and the Year 6/7s are home from Camp.

  • Results from the Australian National Chemistry Quiz, held in August this year, are published.  Well done to those Year 11s that participated.

  • Eleven students from across Year 11 attended a ‘University Experience Day‘ at the University of South Australia on Thursday 26 October.  They participated in hands-on activities across a range of discipline areas, including: Business and Law; Education; Art and Architecture; Engineering; Social Work and Psychology; and Health Science.  Read more about it in today’s Bulletin.
