Curriculum Overview

SACE and VET studies

Much of our Senior School curriculum follows the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), with most of our students moving on to tertiary study after their time at St Dominic’s. We also offer programs for those planning study at TAFE and apprenticeships after school. Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses can be used as credit towards completing their SACE certificate.

Students whose first language isn’t available for study at the College can also take up classes at a community-based language school to help them maintain or build proficiency in their mother language.

Year 10

In Year 10, our students study eight core subjects plus a choice of elective subjects studied for one semester each. Elective subjects give Year 10 students a chance to further pursue areas of interest and discover new opportunities for enquiry and creativity.

Years 11 & 12

In Years 11 and 12, the opportunity for our girls to tailor their education broadens even further. We offer our students a long list of subjects covering a wide range of fields so that they are given every opportunity to move into their chosen area of study or work after they graduate.
