As Lent begins let us be reminded of Mother Rose Columba Adams words;

We have now begun our Lent, and begin it in the spirit in which our Lord began His passion. At His
Last Supper, Jesus, knowing that the Father had put all things into His hands, rose from the table,
and taking a towel, put water into a basin and began to wash his Disciples' feet.
... During Lent we must ask our Lord to wash our feet

Week 5 Bulletin

On this Ash Wednesday, let us be present to our God as we reflect on our lives, with hope in our hearts.

  • Please note the date has changed from Sunday 22 March to SUNDAY 29 MARCH

  • The Parents & Friends Sports Day Stall Roster is online now.  We invite all parents to please consider giving one hour of time on Sports Day, to help put 'community' in this College Community event

Inside the Week 4 Bulletin

  • See some spectacular photos of Sr Jill's trip to New Zealand; a wonderful start to her well-deserved and earned retirement!

  • We congratulate Mehul (Year 10), on her success in Poetry, after she was awarded first place in Poetry in Action's National Competition.  Mehul's poem, 'The Migrant Girl' will now be performed in schools across Australia & New Zealand as part of Poetry in Action's 2020 catalogue.  Listen to it here

  • The Reception Class has had a busy time, engaging with older class groups; with Year 11 Drama paying a special visit for Reading Time, and spending time with their Year 3 Buddies!

  • Year 4 and Year 5 spent a day at the Women's Australian Open Golf; where the international line up of professional golfers included Old Scholar, Stephanie Na!

  • There's an important notice from the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

Family Mass 2020

It is Week 3 and the Term is in full swing, with students and parents alike engaged in the St Dominic's Priory College community.

In this Week

  • We reflect on Sunday's Family Mass; the first major family event on the College Calendar
  • Our Primary athletes have been busy in the lead up to swimming and field events.  Running Club and Children's University is starting soon!
  • Head Prefect, Isabel, and Deputy Head Prefect, Doan, reflect upon their experience at the Australian Student Leaders' Conference; held by yLead during the January holidays.

Upcoming

  • The countdown is on til the first Parents & Friends Meeting of the year; 7:30pm on Wednesday 19 February 2020
  • Saturday Morning Sport begins this week - please visit the SACSSGSA website for draws, or have your daughter check the Gym Noticeboard on Friday.  Good luck to our Water Polo Teams who commence games on Thursday.
  • The Old Scholars' Association is on the look out for former students and staff of the College; to attend a special presentation in recognition of Sr Jillian Havey's retirement, at the Old Scholars' Mass on Sunday 1 March 2020. RSVPs are due by Wednesday 19 February.

The Week 2 Bulletin

Term began with a bang, with a slew of activities engineered to transition students into their new classes and ease them in to their 2020 timetables.

In this edition:

  • 2019 Merit Ceremony at Government House was held on Tuesday 4 February, where 11 St Dominic's students were awarded Merits.  We look forward to celebrating with them at our High Achievers' Assembly on Friday February 14.
  • The new Primary Playground is open for business!
  • We are grateful to the extensive teams of guest speakers and external facilitators who asissted with making Wellbeing Day a resounding success.
  • Special message from the Library, including details of Homework Club; to commence in Week 3.
  • Our Year 12s are back from their final Retreat.
  • Photos from Year 8 Camp.
