Happy Father's Day

Posted by St Dominic's Priory College on 4 September 2019
Happy Father's Day

Wishing the Fathers and father figures of our community a belated Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is celebrated worldwide to recognise the contributions that fathers and father figures make to the lives of children.  At our Chapel Mass on Friday, our Reception Class celebrated the great men in their lives, in the most genuine of ways.

Also in the Week 7 Bulletin

  • We welcome descendants of our College's Foundress, Mother Rose Columba Adams (1832 - 1891), who visited St Dominic's last Thursday.  It is thanks to the legacy of £6,000 which Mother Rose Columba's father left her in his will, that our heritage Chapel was ever built.

  • We look forward to meeting our incoming 2020 Year 7s, and their families, at this evening's orientation event.

  • SRCs are to be congratulated on their efforts with their 'Self Love Week' initiative.

  • A reminder to families to please take care on our roads at, particularly pick-up and drop-off times.  Adelaide City Council traffic inspectors are regularly in attendance.

  • Our Year 9 cohort reflect on last week's Year 9 Retreat.

  • There is important information which has gone home with the eldest daughter in each family.  Click here to read communication from the Chair of our College Board, Mr Jim Howard.

All about Fete!

  • There is a special Craft Stall request for 'pre-loved, new/excess, vintage baby + kids clothing' in this week's Bulletin.

  • The Week 7 Fete Appeal is $4 for Multicultural Stalls (Yiros and Sri Lankan Foods)

  • Sign up to a Fete Rosterhttps://stdo.ms/Fete19

Upcoming Dates

  • Fete Committee Meeting is 7:30pm TONIGHT (Wednesday 4 September).

  • The word is out: the St Dominic's Priory College Annual Music Concert will be held in the College Hall on Thursday September 18.  Put this date in your diary now.

A must this week

Fete 2019 Roster!

The upcoming Fete meeting is on next Wednesday 4 September at 7:30pm and all of you are welcome.  This dedicated group of parent convenors have been working consistently over the past 3 months.  They do need and appreciate your help!  Each year, parents/guardians are asked to volunteer two hours on this day, by signing up to the Fete roster: https://stdo.ms/Fete19

In this week's Bulletin, there is a visual graph of stalls especially needing support.  For this community event, the saying holds true; 'It takes a village to raise a child'.  Your time and generosity are appreciated by our community and, most importantly, your daughter/s.

Also This Week:

  • We look forward to welcoming Year 10 & 11 families to Subject Counselling tomorrow, Thursday 29 August

  • Photos from last Sunday's Old Scholars' Association Afternoon High Tea

  • Book Week and Science Week in review

  • Winter Season sport - final results are in!  Congratulations to all teams on a well-played season.
