Inside Issue 1 of the Term 4 Bulletin:

  • Our Year 5 and Year 6 Classes are back from CAMP.

  • The Annual Music Concert was a celebration of beauty, in song, sound and creativity.

  • The 2020 Parents & Friends Raffle is launched.  Get your tickets now and be in for the chance to win some cash for Christmas!

  • Last week was Anti-Poverty Week, and the Social Justice Club has been raising money in support of Catherine House, and the Vinnies Christmas Appeal has begun.

  • We revisit some key events from the end of Term 3 - the student led Mental Health & Wellbeing Week in Week 9, and some more photos from Week 10's Musical Production of Grease.

  • Congratulations to our award-winning poets; successful entrants in the 2020 Spring Poetry Competition.  This competition is run by the English Teachers Association of SA (SAETA) and accepts entries from across the state.  Such a commendable result from our talented students.

  • Saturday Morning Sport has begun its final season for 2020.  Good luck to all teams!

  • There are some general reminders regarding Uniform Shop opening hours, Tuckshop Specials, and the College Uniform Policy.

Today marks the beginning of the final week of secondary schooling for our Class of 2020, and what a year it has been!

As our Year 12 girls embark upon their last days at St Dominic's Priory College, and prepare for graduation and beyond, we are pleased to present some words of encouragement from His Excellency Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia.

An Action-Packed End of Term 3 2020

Inside Issue 5 of the Term 3 Bulletin:

  • We congratulate the Year 12 Student Leaders for 2021!
  • The long-awaited Year 12 Formal and re-imagined Year 11 social event an outdoor cinema evening are held
  • There is information about the 2020 Annual Music Concert now scheduled for Monday 19 October

  • We look back with pride at the Year 10 Personal Project Exhibition
  • September 6-12 marked Child Protection Week, and so the Pastoral Care team at St Dominic's Priory College take a moment to draw attention to some valuable resources, to support the wellbeing of students and families; whilst around the College, students acknowledged R U OK? Day and participated in an SRC-led initiative, Mental Health and Wellbeing Week, throughout Week 9.
  • The Primary School is abuzz with a flurry of year level showcase evenings and we are grateful to the flexibility of staff and families, in navigating the challenges presented by COVID
  • We hear from the Reception Classroom, where the girls have been doing lots of fun, creative things!
  • Grease is the word, with the Year 8-11 Musical taking place this week, in front of a limited but no less enthusiastic audience.  We commend all students and staff involved on their unfaltering dedication and hard work.
  • As we celebrate the end of the Term 3 Saturday Morning Sport competition, a reminder to families that nominations for the summer season have closed, and trainings will begin in Week 1 of Term 4.

Inside Issue 4 of the Term 3 Bulletin:

As we enter into the last weeks of Term, we extend our learning beyond the classroom:

  • Under the leadership of the Science faculty, along with community support, our students have been discovering the wonders of SCIENCE; with Science Week featuring a schedule of special guest speakers, demonstrations, awareness fundraising, and a daily quiz!
  • The Technology Club organised an exciting series of events for Tech Week 2020, including; Virtual Reality tours, racing 3D printed dragsters, and launching rockets!
  • Year 10 students held their Personal Project Exhibition; the products and outcomes presented a culmination of three terms worth of research.
  • Today is R U OK? Day, and the girls have involved themselves in a variety of activities that promote healthy mental wellbeing.
  • Year 10 and Year 11 reflect on their recent Retreats
  • Year 12 are counting the sleeps until their Senior Formal, this weekend.
  • Our Student Leaders and SRC attended an Alliance of Girls' Schools workshop 'Women Leaders Making a Difference', and enjoyed a visit from the Commissioner for Children and Young People, Helen Connolly.
  • The Year 6 Class has had an action-packed term; time spent with our Little Dom's a clear highlight!
  • Year 8 French students have been aiding the Year 5s in 'travelling the world with French'.
  • Saturday Morning Sport finishes its Term 3 Season with some excellent results - well done, girls!
  • Staff and students across our Multi-Arts faculty prepare for both the upcoming School Musical and Catholic Schools Music Festival.
  • There's news from our Careers Office, with some advice on post-school options and Vocational Education & Training (VET) opportunities.
