Our Family at St Dominic’s

A Partnership in Faith

In this week’s Bulletin you will catch glimpses of last Sunday’s congregation of families, staff and friends.  The blessings we receive as a community are many through your presence among us.  The diversity of our community is especially evident in the photographs.

Upcoming

  • Parent Information Nights: It was very good to meet our Year 11 and Year 12 Parents on Monday night.  We were able to share with each other whowe are, as co-operators in your daughters’ final, and second to final year of secondary schooling.

Tonight we are expecting a good response from our Year 8 and Year 7 Parents in attendance at what is a crucial part of their involvement this year.

The Year 9/10 Parent Information Night is scheduled for Monday 20 February.

  • Parents & Friends Committee Meeting: A reminder that the first Parents & Friends meeting is scheduled for 7:30pm on Wednesday 22 February.  The focus will be planning for Sports Day, an important sporting and social event on our calendar that will occur on Sunday 26 March.  An invitation is extended to everyone to come along.  No commitment is required, just a desire to learn more about what’s happening in the school and meet other parents.

  • Sri Lanka Trip movie fundraiser on Sunday 26 February.  The inaugural Sri Lanka Trip participants will be hosting a fundraising afternoon tea and screening of Lion at the Capri Theatre (141 Goodwood Rd) from 2:30pm on Sunday 26 February.  Tickets ($25) are available from the Accounts Office [contact: 8267 3818] during school hours.  For further information, see the Facebook event page here.

Can you Help?

  • SPORTS DAY 26 MARCH: We are always very grateful for the assistance given by parents on Sports Day.  Once again we are asking for helpers to set up
    shelters,
etc or assist with judging or timekeeping. If you are able to help, please return the reply slip inside the Bulletin and you will be contacted closer to the time with more information about the event.

Each year a Sports Day Raffle is conducted to raise funds for the College with a wonderful variety of prizes to be won. The Parents & Friends are in the process of sourcing prizes and would be very grateful for any donation of items for the raffle. Donor businesses/individuals will be acknowledged on the tickets and in the Bulletin. If you have any contacts or have donations that you can provide please contact the College Office [contact: 8267 3818] who will pass on the details to the committee.

  • Year 3-6 Thursday afternoon Netball is in need of coaches for training (once per week) and games (on Thursdays during term).  Please see Ms Cate O’Leary (Primary School Coordinator) ASAP if you are able to help.

  • Tuckshop Volunteer Roster: We would greatly appreciate any members of the College Community who would be able to help in our tuckshop between 10:30am -1:30pm on a Tuesday or Friday (preferably), one or two days per term.  Please see inside today’s Bulletin for more details.
  • Year 10 Work Experience [Monday 25 – September 29 September]: Year 10 students are currently seeking Work Experience placements and we would love to support families of St. Dominic’s in the process. If your business is able to host a Work Experience student from September 25-29 please e-mail Alice Kleinig: [email protected]
